Professional Overview

My name is Brenna L. Witt-Marett. I use the pronouns she / her. You can hear how my name is pronounced at Name Coach.

I am an experienced technical communicator and specialize in accessible design, graphic design, technical writing, and training. I am a neurodiverse person with diverse skills.

I develop the concept, content, and design for each project to create highly usable pieces that are inclusive for all users. I edit, write, and design for all projects and often provide original photography.

Academic
Background

I graduated summa cum laude in the top 0.5% of my class in 2010 from the University of Texas at Arlington.

I double majored in Russian language studies and history with a focus on World War I. I received the Phi Alpha Theta Kenneth R. Philip Undergraduate Merit Award for my paper Through the Eyes of Soldiers, and the Honors College Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Award for my undergraduate honors thesis Memoirs of the First World War.

I earned a certificate in Technical Writing and Professional Design (minor equivalent) at the University of Texas at Arlington in 2021 and maintained a 4.0 GPA, effectively giving me two bachelors’ degrees.

I hold certificates in graphic design, photography, social media marketing, English as a Second Language (ESL), change management, and more.

My experience with acting, public speaking, foreign languages, and academic research allows me to quickly spot patterns in information, problem-solve, and think critically from a user’s perspective.

Personal
Biography

I am a native Texan. My husband and I rescue animals in our “spare” time.

I enjoy traveling, gardening, attending concerts, collecting vinyl, going to art openings, watching Star Trek, and volunteering.

I belong to the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and received the IOOF Merit Award in 2023 in recognition of my work in animal rescue.
